Paul Lumihi is set to make his ONE Championship return at ONE: Winter Warriors II. Lumihi will be going up against Team Lakay’s Jhanlo Mark Sangiao at the event and the stakes are high for the Indonesian MMA fighter.
Currently holding a professional record of 7-5 to his name, Lumihi has been on a four-fight losing streak since making his entry into ONE Championship back in 2019. After switching camps ahead of the fight, Lumihi is feeling confident about getting a win under his resume.
“We know Team Lakay is very good. That is why my preparation should be solid before [facing] their team, especially when it’s against [Team Lakay head coach] Mark Sangiao’s son, Jhanlo. I think that my striking is good, and I’m not too bad in the ground game, but, clearly, they are sharpening my ground skills. I also feel that my physical conditioning is improving massively. So, in comparison to my previous bouts, where I did not join any training camp, I feel there are some improvements there. Because I train every day – sometimes three-to-four times a day,” he said during his interview with ONE Championship.

Fighting out of SOMA Fight Club Bali, Lumihi also added that he will be looking to take the fight to the distance but did not rule out the possibility of a finish.
“I have a target to fight for the full three rounds. So if I win, it will be by decision. I want to dominate every round, where there will be no one saying that the younger one [should have won] because he has more potential. But, if there is the slightest chance for a submission or a knockout, I will clearly finish. If this fight goes all the way, I will dominate and win by decision,” he added.
