I too can become a World Champion: Jhanlo Mark Sangiao after his ONE debut

One of the biggest talking points of ONE: Winter Warriors II was the ONE Championship debut of Jhanlo Mark Sangiao. Son of Team Lakay Founder and Head Coach Mark Sangiao, Jhanlo came in with a lot of pressure on his shoulders and delivered a solid performance to take home the win.

He submitted Paul Lumihi in the first round of the fight and has his eyes set on bigger things in the future.

“[My dad] was so happy to see that I did my best and executed everything that we prepared for. Of course, there was pressure on my end, especially before the bout, but I didn’t look at it negatively. I used it as motivation for me to be more pumped up in the back. I let it all out to unload some pressure. I was just so pumped up that all I could do was scream when I was entering the Circle,” Jhanlo noted in his recent interview with ONE Championship.

Jhanlo says that Training with names like Kevin Belingon and Jeremy Pacatiw at Team Lakay has boosted the confidence and adds that he wants to get hold of the World title in the future.

“I’ve been training hard to move up and be prepared for I face in the bantamweight division. I just plan on giving my best so each time I get in there. Fans should always expect the best from me, and it starts with training up until the fight night. I want to show that I too can become a World Champion,” he concluded.
