A pivotal bantamweight showdown between Jeremy Pacatiw and Fabricio Andrade happened today at ONE: Full Circle.
The fight started off with both fighters trying to stand and trade. Pacatiw was aggressive from the start but he was met with some stiff resistance from his Brazilian counterpart. The fight, however, turned upside down soon when Andrade caught Pacatiw with a huge knee to the liver which stopped the match and gave Andrade a first-round KO win. In his post-fight interview, Andrade talked about the importance of World Peace in the background of the on-going conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Jeremy Pacatiw came into the fight on the back of his promotional debut win in ONE Championship and was looking to improve on the same. The Filipino MMA star had secured his first win in ONE Championship by outclassing Chen Rui back in ONE: Battleground.
The Team Lakay star had also expressed his interest in breaking into the Bantamweight rankings. Interestingly, Pacatiw’s teammate Stephen Loman has already cracked the rankings and is on his way to a potential title shot as well after making his promotional debut recently.
As for Fabricio Andrade, he came into the fight as a ranked fighter in the Bantamweight division. The Brazilian was on a five-fight winning streak ahead of the fight and in the pre-fight interview, he had noted that he will be knocking out Pacatiw. Andrade was 3-0 in ONE Championship as well.
