Jarred Brooks is looking to make a statement in ONE Championship. The Monkey God got a huge submission win over Team Lakay star Lito Adiwang in his promotional debut and then went on to outclass Hiroba Minowa at ONE: Only the Brave this past weekend.
With the two wins, Brooks has positioned himself well to get a ONE Strawweight title shot against Joshua Pacio and the former UFC Star is planning to stop champion Joshua Pacio just like he did with Lito Adiwang.
“I’m looking to beat people with a stamp. I want to beat Joshua Pacio with a stamp. I’m gonna put him out of there, just like I did with his teammate Lito. That’s the main thing. I want to make people realize I am not a boring fighter. I am somebody who can take people out no matter what,” Brooks said.
He also recalled the controversies that came up after his fight with Lito Adiwang and speculated that Pacio might not want to fight him.
“I know the Filipinos love Joshua and Lito, and they wanna make excuses how Lito got beat and stuff like that, ‘Oh, it was a fake groin thing or whatever. I beat Lito at least 7 to 8 minutes out of that fight. He hit me one time, I think. It’s a bunch of excuses. I can’t stipulate to why Joshua wouldn’t fight me, I think he wants the smoke, so Joshua Pacio, let’s get it baby,” Brooks added.
