IFMA Asian Muay Thai Championship Final Results: India finishes with 12 Medals

The Indian team finished their 2019 IFMA Asian Muay Thai championship with 12 medals. The Team managed to bring home 2 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze Medals from the event which in turn marked one of the best outings for the nation so far.

Kavya Kirodian and Misha were the Gold Medal winners from the event for India as both managed to outclass their opponents in the final. Kavya, meanwhile, had a memorable semi-final match as well where she defeated a home fighter via decision.

Elsewhere, Joseph Vanlalhruaia, Dhwani Advani and Narma Debbarma secured Silver Medals. Abdul Hakkeem, who got a huge quarter final win, had to withdraw from the tournament due to injury and took home a Bronze as a result. Elizah, Manish, Naman, Pranshu, Sanskriti and Vani also secured Bronze Medals to complete a solid campaign for India at the event.

In the final medal standings, India finished in the eight position while Iran topped the standings with a total of 33 Medals. Kazhakhstan and Thailand completed the top three while Jordran, Lebanon and hosts United Arab Emirates came in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. Palestine was on seventh position just above India.
