After a long lay-off, Hemant Wadekar returned to the cage this month in style and has secured two dominant first-round finishes.
His first fight happened at the Hero Fight Night 3 main event where he stopped Dushan Burle via a first-round submission and this was followed up by a first-round TKO win over Suraj Bahadur at Soul of Warriors 2 in Kolkata.
Now with momentum on his side, Hemant has called out the Welterweight fighters. Hemant, who was a guest on the One Dojo Cageside series last day, reaffirmed his desire to fight the likes of Jason Ramesh Solomon, Ravinder Balhara, and Sandeep Dahiya.
“It can be absolutely anyone but I am especially targeting The Delhi Moron, Jason Solomon & I am looking forward to getting my rematch with Ravinder ' No Ground Game ' Balhara and Sandeep ' Juicehead ' Dahiya. I don't think anyone among the self-proclaimed best Welterweights would fight me after my last performances but if you call yourself the best, You have to prove it right? Or are you going to hide behind your Promoters & be a keyboard warrior?,” he had noted on his Facebook post.
Hemant, who is one of the veterans in the Indian MMA circuit, has been competing for nearly a decade now after making his debut back in 2013 at the Super Fight League. His return at Hero Fight Night 3 also marked an end to a long two-year-gap in which he was on the sidelines.
