GAMMA India National Championship 2021 to be held in Mumbai in October

GAMMA India has announced the dates and location for the GAMMA India National Championship 2021-22. The event will be held in Mumbai from 21 October 2021 to 24 October 2021 with the registrations happening on 21 October 2021, Thursday.

This time around, the National Championship will host both MMA and Striking MMA brackets and will serve as the selection for the GAMMA MMA World Championship which is scheduled to happen in December.

GAMMA India had held their previous National Championship back in March in Bangalore and had seen the participation of more than 100 athletes from across the nation. The winners from the tournament also went on to compete at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship in Kyrgyzstan where they had a huge amount of success as India finished second in the standings with 22 medals behind Kazakhstan.

As for the team’s World Championship journey is concerned, India had a strong showing at the GAMMA World Championship in 2019 and won 7 medals.
