GAMMA Asian Championships 2021: Day 1 Results for Team India

The action at the GAMMA Asian Championship 2021 kickstarted today in Kyrgyzstan and India had a notable outing in the day. You can see the complete results from Day 1 below based on the weight classes:

A01 - 52,2 KG | - 115 LBS ELITE M

• Kishor BK (AIMMAF) went down to Magzhan Zharylkap of Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals via a submission
• Havish Reddy (GAMMAI) will be fighting Magzhan Zharylkap in the semi-finals on Day 2.

A02 - 56,7 KG | - 125 LBS ELITE

• Naorem Dinesh (AIMMAF) secured a TKO victory over Doston Nasriddinov of Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals. He will now fight Arsenba Ozukum of India.
• Arsenba Ozukum (GAMMAI) progressed over Amin Shayan of Pakistan in the Quarter-finals and will now be going up against Naorem Dinesh in the semi-finals as mentioned earlier.

A03 - 61,2 KG | - 135 LBS ELITE M

• Aaquib Javid (GAMMAI) cruised into the semi-finals of the weight category with a walkover against Asim Khan of Pakistan.
• Limasunep Imchen (GAMMAI) will be fighting Aidamir Magamatov of Kyrgyzstan in the quarter-finals.

A04 - 65,8 KG | - 145 LBS ELITE M

• Mairidin Newmai (GAMMAI) suffered a defeat against Motaz Temeiza of Palestine in the Round of 16 which ended his campaign in the bracket.

A05 - 70,3 KG | - 155 LBS ELITE M

• World Championship Silver medalist Sumit Bhyan (GAMMAI) progressed into the semi-finals with a win over Timur Serikuly of Kazakhstan. He will now face Oraz Aslan of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals.
• Abdul Shammas Latheef (AIMMAF) suffered a defeat against Oraz Aslan in the Quarter-finals.

A06 - 77,1 KG | - 170 LBS ELITE M

• Suyash Jadhav (GAMMAI) progressed into the quarter-finals of the bracket with a win over Ulegbek Alibekov of Kyrgyzstan. He will now face Shah Zaib of Pakistan in the Quarter-Finals on Day 2.
• Vinit Desai (AIMMAF) is set to fight Temirlan Aibashov of Kyrgyzstan in the quarter-finals.

A07 - 83,9 KG | - 185 LBS ELITE M

• Sahil Dahiya (GAMMAI) suffered a defeat against Zhakyp Tuganbaev of Kyrgyzstan in the quarter-finals.
• Anurag Singh (GAMMAI) will be fighting Aala Gul of Pakistan in the Quarter-Finals

B02 - 56,7 KG | - 125 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Vishnu Warrier (GAMMAI) secured a win over Amin Shayan of Pakistan in the Quarter-Finals to book a spot in the semi-finals against fellow Indian fighter Naorem Dinesh.

B03 - 61,2 KG | - 135 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Eldos Uulu Attokur of Kyrgyzstan progressed over Limasunep Imchen (GAMMAI) in the quarter finals.
• Aleksandr Kononenko of Kyrgyzstan progressed over Aaquib Javid (GAMMAI) in the quarter-finals as well.

B04 - 65,8 KG | - 145 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Rustam Ibragimov of Kyrgyzstan progressed over Mairidin Newmai (GAMMAI) in the Quarter-finals of the bracket.

B05 - 70,3 KG | - 155 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Shammas Latheef (AIMMAF) secured a win over Garth Pangemanan of Indonesia in the quarter-finals to book his place in the semi-finals.
• Neitso Angami (GAMMAI) moved to the semi-finals with a win over Ibnu Ananda of Indonesia in the quarter-finals. Shammas and Neitso will go head to head in the semi-finals.

B06 - 77,1 KG | - 170 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Longstukumba Ao (GAMMAI) defeated Bektur Mangiev of Kyrgyzstan to progress into the semi-finals. He will now face Elaman Koldoshev of Kyrgyzstan.
• Vinit Desai (AIMMAF) went down to Elaman Koldoshev of Kyrgyzstan in the quarter-finals of the bracket.

B07 - 83,9 KG | - 185 LBS ELITE M STRIKING MMA

• Alibek Seidazym of Kazhakstan progressed into the semi-finals over Anurag Singh (GAMMAI). He will now have to face India’s Sahil Dahiya (GAMMAI) in the semi-finals.

B11 - 52,2 KG | - 115 LBS ELITE F STRIKING MMA

• Akshata Khadtare (GAMMAI) moved to the finals of the weight category with a win over fellow Indian fighter Samata Sonawane (GAMMAI). Akshata will now face Tomiris Zhussupova of Kazakhstan in the finals.

B12 - 56,7 KG | - 125 LBS ELITE F STRIKING MMA

• Harpreet Kaur (GAMMAI) progressed against India’s Sanika Patil (GAMMAI) in the semi-finals. Harpreet will now fight in the finals against Raushan Muratova.
