Indian Boxer Faizan Anwar to fight Evgenii Vazem of Russia in Dubai

Top-ranked Indian boxer Faizan Anwar is all set to fight Evgenii Vazem of Russia at the Caesars Palace Dubai in Dubai on 3 April 2021. Faizan, who has been undefeated in his professional boxing career so far, holds a record of 5-0 to his name.

His last bout came in Dubai against JR Mendoza of the Philippines and proved to be a huge boost for Faizan in the rankings as well.

He is currently the top-ranked Indian boxer in Welterweight Division according to BoxRec. Interestingly, Neeraj Goyat is also in the same weight category and is second in the rankings behind Faizan.

Elsewhere, Faizan’s opponent Evgenii Vazem holds a professional record of 9-13 to his name and comes in with a wealth of experience across 22 bouts and 99 rounds. He will be looking to snap a three-fight losing streak when he fights Faizan in Dubai.

The card is headlined by the showdown between Jamel Herring and Carl Frampton for the WBO World Super Featherweight Title which will serve as the first major professional boxing title fight in Dubai. Three more title fights will also be on the line on the same card.

The event will be sanctioned by The Dubai Boxing Commission and is promoted by the likes of Jose Mohan (Round 10 Promotions), Bob Arum (Top Rank), and Frank Warren (Queensberry Promotions) as per BoxRec.
