ONE Championship added a blockbuster fight to ONE X last day when they announced that John Wayne Parr will be locking horns with Eduard Folayang. The announcement has already made headlines all over the world and here are some facts that you need to know about the fight.

Muay-Thai Rules

The fight will be under ONE Super Series Muay-Thai Rules. On paper, this might sound like a suicide mission for Eduard Folayang as John Wayne Parr is a legend in Muay-Thai but at the same time, it should not be forgotten that Folayang himself is an accomplished striker and has an extensive Wushu background.

The retirement fight and 100th victory

The fight against Folayang will be the retirement bout for John Wayne Parr. The 45-year-old Australian will also be looking to earn the 100th career victory of his legendary career.

The Achievements

Both Folayang and John Wayne Parr are legends, period. John Wayne Parr is a 10-time Kickboxing and Muay-Thai World champion and has been in the ring with some of the biggest names in martial arts history. He has victories over including Yodsanklai Fairtex, Lamsongkram Chuwattana, and Dzhabar Askerov among others during his career.

Folayang, on the other hand, has 11 major medals in Wushu including three gold medals at the SEA Games. He is also a three-time ONE Championship Lightweight World Champion in MMA and will be making his ONE Super Series debut when he fights Parr at ONE X. From the first event to ONE X

ONE Championship will be rolling out ONE X to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the promotion. Interestingly, the first-ever ONE Championship event, which happened on September 3, 2011, was headlined by Eduard Folayang. Folayang fought A Sol Kwon of South Korea in the main event and secured a win in the fight as well.
