Team Lakay star Eduard Folayang is open to a rematch with former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez. Folayang revealed the same in his recent interview with PhilStar and noted that he would love to fight two more times in 2022.

Folayang is currently coming off a decision win over John Wayne Parr in a Muay-Thai contest back in March and he has already named Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama and Sage Northcutt as possible opponents.

“I hope the fight between Sexyama and me happens because of course, it didn't go on. And then, even with Northcutt, he would have been my opponent last time but he was replaced so we fought John Wayne. Yet, so far, I haven't seen any other opponents yet but, we are open to whoever is next in line with us," said Folayang.

He addressed the potential rematch with Eddie Alvarez as well. Alvarez and Folayang fought back in 2019 with Alvarez picking up a win in the first round via submission. A rematch would offer Folayang the opportunity to level the scores.

“If they like Folayang vs Alvarez II, it's also good, it's also a good fight,” the Filipino MMA star noted.

Folayang is expecting to be back in action by August or September and plans to fight in December as well if everything goes well.

“For me, I would like to fight mid-year, if possible, in August or September. And then hopefully one in December,” he added.
