Team Lakay star Danny Kingad open to fighting Reece McLaren

Reece McLaren called out Team Lakay star Danny Kingad following his submission victory over Xie Wei at ONE 158.

An emotional Reece McLaren approached ONE commentator Mitch Chilson after his eventful one-round battle at ONE 158 and requested Danny Kingad for his next outing. They previously faced off at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES in August of 2019, with "The King" winning by a split decision.

Now, the #5-ranked "Lightning" seeks redemption against the #4-ranked Kingad. Following the callout, "The King" responded to his former adversary's offer by saying he would love to run it back with the Australian.

In fact, the 26-year-old appears ready for action, and he has urged matchmakers to book the fight as soon as possible.

“I want to say congratulations to you, Reece Mclaren, for a superb performance tonight. I heard you calling my name inside the Circle. We have faced each other before and I am ready to face you again. To ONE Championship, let’s have a date for me and Reece. I am all set and game. I am ready. Let’s go,” Kingad noted.

Kingad is currently coming off a loss against Kairat Akhmetov and is 3-2 in his last five fights with his other loss coming against Demetrious Johnson. Reece McLaren, on the other hand, is also 3-2 in his last five fights. McLaren secured wins over Wei Xie, Aleksi Toivonen, and Gurdarshan Mangat when he suffered losses to Yuya Wakamatsu, and Danny Kingad.
