Team Lakay star Danny Kingad suffered a major setback at the hands of Kairat Akhmetov at ONE: Winter Warriors II. Kingad suffered his third career loss against Akhmetov and is expected to drop in the ONE Championship rankings following his loss.

Speaking to the media in the Philippines, Kingad noted that he needs to improve himself for a title shot.

"This is what God gave me. I need to improve more to be ready for a title shot. These are the types of fights that give you learnings and see what else is to be improved. Just get back to training, get back inside the gym, and be ready for whoever is my next opponent. It's important to get that win first before thinking of a title shot,” Kingad noted (h/t Sportskeeda).

Recalling the fight, Kingad thinks that he had an opportunity in the second round to turn the fight around.

"In the second round, he was already tired. He was just forcing me not to stand up. I’m happy to get back standing up in the third round and get in a few strikes. I cannot explain it but I need to improve on a lot of things,” Kingad added.

It would be interesting to see what the future holds for the Filipino MMA Star and how he bounces back from the loss against Akhmetov.
