Aung La N Sang has released an official statement following his knockout win against Leandro Ataides at ONE: Battleground last day.
Aung La, who came into the fight on the back of two back-to-back defeats against Reinier De Ridder, showcased a strong comeback. He was in the driving seat of the fight from the start itself and managed to finish Ataides in the first round itself with a huge right hand.
After the win, Aung La was seen emotional and even addressed a lot of callouts in his post-fight speech. Sometime later, he posted an emotional message on Instagram as well. He thanked his teammates and noted that it was a hard camp. You can read his statement below.
“We can’t always win but can always prepare ourselves the best we can. This camp was full of hardship and trial but I thank God for giving me the strength to go on. Thank you to my team at @sanfordmma and big thank you to @henrihooft for flying all the way to Singapore 3 times now with me. Thank you to my family and friends for always being there for me. When times are hard, keep going and keep doing what’s right. Love you all and see you guys soon in the @onechampionship circle.”
Aung La had a lot to talk about in the post-fight media interaction as well. Aung La spoke to the media about facing adversity during this particular training camp, responding to callouts from Vitaly Bigdash, Kiamrian Abbasov, and Yushin Okami, wanting to return to action in September, and more.
