Reinier De Ridder is all set to make his second Middleweight title at ONE 159 against Vitaly Bigdash. The Dutchman already has a successful defense on his resume after his win over ONE Welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov and will be looking to build on this when he fights Bigdash next.

One fighter who knows De Ridder well by now is Aung La N Sang. The former ONE Championship double champion has already fought two times with De Ridder and has trained with the Dutchman as well.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Aung La N Sang spoke highly of De Ridder and detailed why he is a great champion.

"[De Ridder’s best qualities are] his range, how long he is, and his grappling. When you fight taller opponents, you have to close the distance, but he wants to close the distance as well because he’s a better grappler than he is a striker, so it’s interesting. He has interesting attributes. His grappling is very good. His wrestling is okay but his jiu-jitsu is very good,” Aung La N Sang noted.

Interestingly, Aung La has also fought Vitaly Bigdash, and that too, three times. Bigdash won on two occasions and closed the trilogy but the Burmese Python recently expressed his interest in having rematches with both Bigdash and De Ridder.

He also noted that it is too hard to have a prediction for the fight between Bigdash and De Ridder as both the fighters are equally matched.

ONE 159 is set to happen on Friday, 22 July 2022 in Singapore and will have a string of other exciting bouts as well.

As for Aung La, he has expressed his interest in fighting Japanese Icon Yushin Okami but no official announcement has been made by ONE Championship regarding the next opponent of the Myanmar superstar.
