Big night in Bangkok on Friday, 16 October. The Inner Circle 35 and ONE Friday Fights 175 both went down at Lumpinee Stadium, and both main events gave us a feel-good comeback, one by decision and one by highlight-reel knockout.
Start with the main event of The Inner Circle 35, where Wang Junguang hadn't fought in ONE in six years but looked right at home, using unorthodox footwork and body shots to edge reigning world champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK by split decision.
Johan Ghazali got his revenge in the co-main event, too. After losing a razor-close split decision to Diego Paez in their first meeting, he took the flyweight Muay Thai rematch at The Inner Circle 35 by unanimous decision, ending a two-fight skid and moving to 28-11.
Over at ONE Friday Fights 175, Abdessamie Rhenimi wasn't about to let a two-fight slump linger. The 20-year-old Moroccan stopped Lamsing T1 Fight Academy in the flyweight Muay Thai main event with a hook combination and a big uppercut at 1:49 of round three.
In the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 175, Mahesuan Aekmuangnon took over in round two against Bakjo Sitkhunma, dropping him three times in the atomweight Muay Thai bout before the referee waved it off at 2:05, his third straight finish.
