UFC returns with UFC Vegas 70 this weekend. The main event of UFC at UFC APEX is a light heavyweight contenders fight between No. 6 ranked Nikita Krylov and No. 8 ranked Ryan Spann. In another fight amongst Dana White's Contender Series signees, middleweight contender Andre Muniz squares up against Brendan Allen, who is ranked No. 11.

Nikita Krylov vs. Ryan Spann Preview

Krylov (29-9, fighting out of Donetsk, Ukraine) hopes to begin his 2023 campaign with yet another exciting result. He has victories over past championship contenders Volkan Oezdemir, Alexander Gustafsson, and Ovince Saint Preux, making him one of the most interesting fighters at light heavyweight. Krylov now seeks to defeat Spann and position himself for a shot in the Top 5 of the division.

With a decisive victory, Spann (21-7, representing Beaumont, Texas) hopes to advance further up the 205-pound ladder. He had great finishes over Dominick Reyes, Ion Cutelaba, and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and is a submission expert with KO power. Now, Spann wants to take advantage of his second chance to compete in the main event by eliminating Krylov effectively.

Andre Muniz vs. Brendan Allan Preview

With another impactful performance, Muniz (23-4, fighting out of Montes Claros, MG, Brazil) hopes to extend his winning streak. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has won notable matches against Uriah Hall, Eryk Anders, and Jacare Souza. Muniz is now focused on achieving his 10th straight victory in order to maintain his position atop the rankings.

With a show-stopping finish, Allen (20-5, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin) hopes to enter the middleweight Top 15. A gifted grappler who is now on a three-fight winning streak, he has drawn attention with major submission wins over Kevin Holland, Sam Alvey, and Krzysztof Jotko. Allen now intends to derail Muniz's upward trend and position himself as a middleweight title contender.

Other bouts on the card
