UFC 325 and the ROAD TO UFC Season 4 Finals took place on Sunday, February 1, at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, delivering a historic night for the promotion. The event drew a sold-out crowd of 18,102 fans and generated a gate of AU$14,433,052 (US$10,103,136), making it the highest-grossing indoor arena event in Australian history.
In the main event, UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski successfully defended his title against No. 2 contender Diego Lopes in a competitive five-round contest. Both fighters had strong moments, but Volkanovski’s higher volume striking and late-round grappling control proved decisive, earning him a unanimous decision victory. With the win, Volkanovski tied Jose Aldo for the most featherweight title defenses in UFC history.
The co-main event featured a key lightweight clash, as Benoît Saint Denis secured a second-round TKO victory over Dan Hooker. After absorbing early pressure, Saint Denis used his grappling to take control and finished the bout with heavy ground-and-pound, moving closer to the top of the lightweight division.
The ROAD TO UFC Season 4 Finals also produced three new UFC signees. Lawrence Lui won the bantamweight final via split decision over Sulangrangbo. In the featherweight final, Keiichiro Nakamura scored a spectacular third-round knee knockout against Sebastian Szalay. The lightweight final saw Dom Mar Fan defeat SangWook Kim by unanimous decision.
Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2 earned Fight of the Night honors, while Performance of the Night bonuses went to Mauricio Ruffy and Quillan Salkilld.
