UFC returns with UFC 304 this weekend. Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad are set to clash in the main event of UFC 304, with the welterweight title on the line. The bout, taking place at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, will mark the second meeting between these fighters.
Muhammad has been eagerly awaiting his championship opportunity since extending his winning streak to five and his unbeaten run to double digits with a unanimous decision win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 288 last May. The Chicagoland native, known for his relentless pace and conditioning, will aim to bring the fight to Edwards from the outset.
The two first met over three years ago at the UFC APEX, when Muhammad stepped in on short notice for Khamzat Chimaev. Edwards controlled the first round with his striking, stinging Muhammad at one point, but an inadvertent eye poke ended the bout prematurely, resulting in a no contest. The animosity from that incident lingers, and Saturday's bout offers a chance for resolution.
Birmingham’s Edwards will defend his title on British soil for the second time. He enters this weekend’s headlining bout on an outstanding 13-fight unbeaten streak. The only blemish in that run is the no contest from his initial encounter with Muhammad in March 2021. In his last fight, Edwards successfully defended his title with a dominant victory over Colby Covington at UFC 296, earning 49-46 scores across the board.
Edwards and Muhammad will finally have the opportunity to settle their score, with the welterweight championship hanging in the balance. You can see the event details below.
