UFC rolled out UFC 290 this weekend and as expected, the fight card delivered big time.
In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski retained the UFC Featherweight title with a win over Yair Rodriguez. With the win, Volkanovski also unified the title and cemented his spot on top of the Pound for Pound rankings.
Volkanovski had a comfortable run throughout the fight and managed to stop the fight in the fourth round when he picked apart Yair with a flurry of punches.
In the co-main event, Alexandre Pantoja got the better of Brandon Moreno to become the new UFC Flyweight champion. Pantoja and Moreno delivered a fight of the year contender which in the end was ruled in favor of Pantoja via a split decision.
Elsewhere. Dricus Du Plessis stopped Robert Whittaker in the second round to secure his title shot against UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Adesanya and Du Plessis had a moment inside the cage as well after the fight which further hyped up matters.
Dan Hooker and Jalin Turner also delivered a fight for the ages with Hooker picking up the split decision win. Bo Nickal made quick work of Val Woodburn in the first-round itself when Robbie Lawler retired in style when he knocked out Niko Price in the first round.
