UFC 285 is in the books and saw some exciting action at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Main event saw Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane locking horns for the UFC Heavyweight title. The fight started off on a low note as the first kick from Gane landed on the groin of Jon Jones. Jones quickly showcased his dominance through his grappling skills and went for submission in the first round itself and ended up getting the same to become the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. The only damage that Jones took in the fight was the groin kick that he absorbed. Jones also enters the elite list of UFC athletes that has won titles in two weight classes.

Jon Jones was making his debut in the UFC Heavyweight division with the match. The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion was also coming back after a long gap of three years. Jones was last seen at UFC 247 where he fought Dominick Reyes and secured a unanimous decision victory.

Before this, had secured wins over Thiago Santos, Anthony Smith and Alexander Gustafsson. Jones has been an active MMA fighter since 2008 and was the youngest-ever UFC champion at the age of 23. Over the years, he had secured wins over names like Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, Ryan Bader, and Mauricio Rua among others.

Gane, on the other hand, came in with a record of 11-1 to his name. His only loss came against Francis Ngannou after which he bounced back strongly with a win over Tai Tuivasa.
