UFC returns with UFC 283 this weekend and the card will be led by two exciting title fights.
The main event is anticipated to feature a fight for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship between former champion Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill.
Teixeira was scheduled to battle at UFC 282 as a challenger in a rematch against then-champion Ji Procházka, however, Procházka withdrew due to a major shoulder injury and forfeited the belt. The UFC changed the initial co-main event between former champion Jan Bachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev into the new title fight for the empty crown when Teixeira declined to go on Magomed Ankalaev as a replacement.
The group opted to book Teixeira and Hill after the match finished in a split draw since they were supposed to headline an event in early March versus former championship challenger Anthony Smith.
The event is anticipated to include a UFC Flyweight Championship tetralogy fight between current two-time champion Deiveson Figueiredo and former champion/current interim title holder Brandon Moreno.
On December 12, 2020, the pair first faced off at UFC 256, which resulted in a majority draw (Figueiredo retained the title).
On June 12, 2021, UFC 263 hosted their second encounter, during which Moreno won the title through third-round submission.
On January 22, 2022, at UFC 270, they fought a third time, with Figueiredo winning by unanimous decision. Alexandre Pantoja is anticipated to serve as the fight's backup and potential replacement.

UFC 283 Main Card will be live in India on Sunday, 22 January 2022 from 8:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on SONY SPORTS 1 and SONY LIV.
