After a 1,258-day absence from competition, Tatiana Suarez shone on Saturday at UFC Vegas 70 when she defeated Montana De La Rosa.

Suarez who had not competed in nearly four years, returned to the octagon and earned a decisive victory by applying a guillotine choke to De La Rosa in the second round of their women's flyweight match at the UFC Apex.

Suarez regained her form in the second round after De La Rosa displayed some resistance in the first round. She seized control of the scuffle before navigating her way into the choke to complete the task.

“I’m so happy. I’ve been dreaming about this for a long time. I wasn’t able to fight, and it’s really hard when you can’t do what you love to do the most. I know what it’s like to lose one dream, and I didn’t want to lose another,” she said after her win at UFC Vegas 70.

Because to her extended absence from the octagon, Suarez competed at 125 pounds for this match; however, she made it plain that she will be moving back down to strawweight for the following match and plans to continue her title campaign there.

“I’m coming for the belt. 115 here I come. Im going to come back down. I’m going to do what I know I can be, and be the world champion,” Suarez added.

In the post-fight interview, Suarez noted that she wants a showdown with Rose Namajunas.

“I'm just excited I would love to fight somebody like Rose [Namajunas] or whoever they give me really you know I don't I'm not I should I've told I've told multiple people you know I would I would go down the entire roster if I could you know,”
