Takeru Segawa has dissected Denis Puric's fighting style and believes the veteran represents the perfect opponent for a spectacular knockout on November 16.
The Japanese megastar will face "The Bosnian Menace" in a flyweight kickboxing showdown at ONE 173, where the #2-ranked contender plans to deliver a statement performance at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
This bout carries significant weight for Takeru's career trajectory following his crushing first-round knockout defeat to Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE 172 this year. The long-awaited super-fight between the two striking stars ended abruptly when the Thai delivered a devastating finish in front of Japanese fans.
Takeru welcomes Puric's aggressive mentality and views the stylistic matchup as tailor-made for an exciting finish.
"Well, I'd heard he wanted to fight me, and I guess he's got confidence in himself against me. Personally, I've always thought he's a fighter whom I match up against really well. He's the type who comes out aggressively and wants to trade blows," the former three-division K-1 Champion said.
The Japanese striker has spent considerable time studying his opponent's tendencies and identified clear opportunities to secure a stoppage victory across the full duration of their bout.
"I see weaknesses in his game, so I'm thinking it'd be great if I could use all three rounds to get the KO," Takeru revealed.
While acknowledging the mutual confidence both fighters possess in their knockout power, Takeru maintains unwavering belief in his ability to finish exchanges decisively.
"I really think it'll be a thrilling match. He seems to think he can KO me, but conversely, I think he's the kind of fighter worth knocking out. If it comes down to an all-out slugfest, I'm confident that I can finish him," he stated.
Both all-action strikers guarantee fireworks in what promises to be an explosive flyweight kickboxing battle between two fighters desperate to reignite their championship ambitions.
ONE 173: Superbon Vs. Noiri will be broadcast live on live.onefc.com at 9:30 a.m. IST on Sunday, 16 November.
