Andrew Tackett, Mason Fowler to Headline UFC BJJ 2 on July 31

UFC BJJ returns with a stacked card featuring two title fights at UFC BJJ 2: Tackett vs. Canuto, set for Thursday, July 31, streaming live and free on UFC’s official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

In the main event, UFC BJJ welterweight champion Andrew Tackett (Austin, Texas) will make his first title defense against elite submission artist Renato Canuto (Las Vegas, Nev.). Tackett captured the inaugural belt with a first-round submission win over Andy Varela and looks to solidify his dominance in the 170-pound division.

Canuto, known for his explosive submission game, makes his promotional debut with wins over Oliver Taza, Jason Nolf and PJ Barch. He aims to derail Tackett’s reign and claim the title in dramatic fashion.

The co-main event will crown the first UFC BJJ light heavyweight champion as Mason Fowler (Fresno, Calif.) squares off with David Garmo (Detroit, Mich.). Fowler enters the event with submission victories over Christiano Troisi, Pedro Marinho and Haisam Rida, hoping to add UFC BJJ gold to his résumé.

Garmo brings his dynamic style to the cage as he eyes the biggest win of his career and a place in UFC BJJ history as the division’s first titleholder.
