Sui, a pioneering Layer 1 blockchain, announced its new role as the official blockchain partner of ONE Championship, the world's premier martial arts organization, during a panel at Token2049 in Singapore. ONE Championship showcases a wide array of martial arts with athletes from over 80 countries competing in MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, submission grappling, and more.
This partnership marks a significant step for Sui as it will be integrated into several ONE products, including the upcoming ONE Fight Arena. This Web3-enabled mobile game, developed in collaboration with Animoca Brands and Notre Game, will feature ONE’s extensive roster of athletes and utilize Sui's advanced blockchain technology to enhance gameplay and ensure true digital ownership for players.
Additionally, Sui will support a comic/manga series about ONE athletes, accessible via zkLogin and powered by the Walrus protocol on Sui, and a free-to-play pick’em game offering a mix of physical and digital rewards.
Jameel Khalfan, Head of Ecosystem Development at the Sui Foundation, highlighted the partnership's significance, stating it underlines Sui's growth and its potential to impact the sports community positively. "ONE Championship is the fastest-growing major global sports property and is known for its technological innovation," Khalfan said.
As ONE's official blockchain partner, Sui will gain extensive visibility and brand exposure during key events, reaching thousands in-person and millions globally through broadcasting partners like Prime Video, Sky Sports, Globo, Channel 7 HD, U-Next, Seven Network, and Disney+ Hotstar.
Hua Fung Teh, Co-Founder and Group President of ONE Championship, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "In today's competitive landscape, capturing attention demands high-quality, interconnected, and engaging experiences," Teh said. "Sui perfectly aligns with these objectives, and we are excited to integrate their technology to enhance our fan engagement."
