Indian judo champion Suchika Tariyal proved why she's dubbed "The Ronda Rousey of India" with a dominant second-round armbar submission victory at BRAVE CF 92.
An eight-time national judo champion and a Commonwealth and South Asian medallist, Suchika showcased her grappling skills in full force against Jhen Buzon. She controlled the pace of the fight from start to finish, executing multiple takedowns that left Buzon unable to find an offensive rhythm.
Also a Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, Suchika relentlessly searched for submissions, and in the second round, she locked in a belly-down armbar that forced Buzon to tap out.
This fight marked Suchika's return to MMA after a seven-year hiatus during which she competed in judo and Jiu-Jitsu. With the victory, she remains undefeated in her professional MMA career, improving her record to 2-0.
Her stunning performance also marked her BRAVE Combat Federation debut, where she has quickly positioned herself as a serious contender in the Strawweight division. The division has had an exciting year in 2024, with rising talents like Suchika and former IMMAF medallist Songül Karatorak joining the ranks. It has also witnessed electrifying matchups, including the thrilling showdown between Monika Kučinič and Fabiola Pidroni, which is already a top contender for Fight of the Year.
With Suchika's entry, the competition for the first-ever Female MMA Champion in BRAVE CF is intensifying.
