Stamp Fairtex gets split decision over Anna Jaroonsak at ONE Fight Night 6

The showdown between Stamp Fairtex and Anna Jaroonsak went down at ONE Fight Night 6 in Thailand today.

Anna started on the front foot in the fight and was mounting pressure on Stamp in the early seconds of the first round. The former Atomweight Kickboxing champion soon found her footing and countered Anna with some impressive offense of her own.

Supergirl was mounting pressure in the second round as well when Stamp was forced to fight on the back foot. A similar story unfolded in the third round when Stamp mounted some great offence in counter. At the end of the day, one judge scored in favour of Anna when two judges scored in favor of Stamp Fairtex which earned the former champion a split decision victory. Stamp also earned a bonus for her performance. 

Stamp came into the fight on the back of her impressive MMA win against Jihin Radzuan. The Thai superstar has only lost to ONE Atomweight champion Angela Lee in her last five fights. During this run, she secured wins over Alyona Rassohyna, Julie Mezabarba, and Ritu Phogat as well. It was revealed during the press conference ahead of the event that Stamp would be fighting Anissa Meksen in a kickboxing bout in February or March.

Anna, meanwhile, was on a two-fight winning streak heading into the showdown with Stamp. The Supergirl had secured a win over Milagros Lopez back in 2020 in ONE Championship and followed this up with a win over Ekaterina Vandaryeva in 2022 as well.

The fight between Stamp Fairtex and Anna Jaroonsak came together in the last minute. Stamp was originally scheduled to fight Anissa Meksen in a Mixed Rules fight at the event. Anissa, however, had to pull out of the fight due to personal reasons. As for Anna, the Thai star was supposed to fight Ekaterina Vandaryeva at the event. Ekaterina, however, missed weight.

ONE Championship subsequently made the strawweight kickboxing bout between Stamp and Anna on short notice.

ONE Fight Night 6 is headlined by the much-awaited kickboxing showdown between ONE Featherweight divisional king Superbon Singha Mawynn and Grand Prix Champion Chingiz Allazov. The card also features the ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World title fight between Mikey Musumeci and Gantumur Bayanduuren along with the ONE Flyweight kickboxing world title fight between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Daniel Puertas.
