PFL Makes History with Signing of Female Saudi Arabian MMA Fighter Hattan Alsaif

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) continues to make waves as it proudly announces the signing of Hattan Alsaif to an exclusive, multi-fight contract, marking a historic moment in global MMA. At just 22 years old, Alsaif becomes the first woman from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to secure a contract with a worldwide MMA promotion.

Alsaif's impressive credentials include a gold medal at the 2023 International Federation of Muay Thai Associations World Championships, where she was recognized as the "Breakthrough Female Athlete." Her victories extended to the World Combat Games and the Saudi Games. As she prepares to make her amateur MMA debut for the PFL in 2024, Alsaif expressed her excitement, emphasizing the significance of the responsibility that comes with being the first Saudi woman signed to a global MMA contract.

In her own words, Alsaif stated, "Receiving a contract from the PFL is a dream come true. As the first Saudi woman signed to a global MMA contract, I do not take the responsibility lightly, and I am committed to representing my country. I hope to pave the way for aspiring female fighters. I am thankful to God and the PFL for this incredible opportunity."

Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations at PFL, expressed the league's enthusiasm in welcoming Alsaif, recognizing her as a groundbreaking athlete. Sefo emphasized PFL's commitment, in collaboration with partner SRJ Sports, to identify exceptional talents like Alsaif and champion the cause of women in MMA in the region. The goal is to provide a global platform for fighters to showcase their skills.

Alsaif will undergo training primarily with Abdullah Al-Qahtani, a competitor in PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions. Her addition to the roster strengthens the lineup, offering fighters opportunities in PFL MENA, the league's second regional branch outside the United States. This disruptive model aims to provide fighters from the Middle East and North Africa with pathways to the PFL Global Roster.

PFL stands out as the sole MMA organization with a sports-season format, featuring regular seasons, playoffs, and championships annually.
