Indian Grappler Sanjay Nambiar Triumphs at Battleground Event in Perth

Indian grappler Sanjay Nambiar added another feather to his cap with a spectacular submission victory at the recently held Battleground Grappling event in Perth, Australia. In an exhilarating showdown, Sanjay emerged victorious against his formidable opponent, Cylas Hardisty, showcasing his grappling skills on an international stage.

Competing alongside his teammates from the esteemed Costa Academy, Sanjay Nambiar, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), has come a long way since his journey began in the United States back in 2016. Pursuing his undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sanjay's path to success in the world of martial arts has been nothing short of inspirational.

Reflecting on his early days, Sanjay recalled a pivotal moment in high school when a verbal altercation led to a humbling experience. It was during this time that he realized the importance of self-defence and the need to cultivate physical and mental resilience.

Upon enrolling in college, Sanjay embarked on a journey of self-discovery and stumbled upon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through online research. To his delight, he found a BJJ gym conveniently located just 10 to 15 minutes away from his campus, which he made a daily pilgrimage to.

Initially, his interest in BJJ was lukewarm, and he confessed to being drawn towards other activities during his early college years. However, as he delved deeper into the world of BJJ and began to appreciate the intricate techniques and the art of fighting, his commitment and enthusiasm for the sport grew exponentially.
