UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Hernandez Headlines August 9 Event at UFC APEX

UFC returns to UFC APEX on Saturday, August 9, with a pivotal middleweight main event as No. 8-ranked Roman Dolidze takes on No. 9-ranked Anthony Hernandez. The fight card also features a high-stakes flyweight co-main event between No. 7-ranked Alex Perez and No. 9-ranked Steve Erceg.

UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Hernandez will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ in English and Spanish. Prelims begin at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET, followed by the main card at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.

Main Event: Roman Dolidze vs. Anthony Hernandez

Roman Dolidze (15-3, fighting out of Batumi, Georgia) enters the Octagon looking for a second consecutive main event victory. The seasoned contender holds wins over top names such as Marvin Vettori, Kevin Holland, and Anthony Smith, and now aims to defend his top-10 spot against a surging opponent.

Anthony Hernandez (14-2, 1 NC, fighting out of Dunnigan, Calif.) rides a seven-fight win streak into his highest-profile matchup to date. With finishes over Michel Pereira, Roman Kopylov, and Edmen Shahbazyan, Hernandez seeks a statement win to crack the division’s Top 5.

Co-Main Event: Alex Perez vs. Steve Erceg

Alex Perez (25-9, fighting out of Lemoore, Calif.) returns for his first fight of 2025, hoping to build on wins over Matheus Nicolau, Jussier Formiga, and Jordan Espinosa. The former title challenger is determined to reassert his place among the elite at 125 pounds.

Steve Erceg (12-4, fighting out of Perth, Western Australia) is aiming for redemption and momentum in the flyweight division. With wins over Matt Schnell, Alessandro Costa, and David Dvořák, Erceg seeks an emphatic victory to climb closer to a title shot.
