3 Exciting matchups for Roberto Soldic in ONE Championship

ONE Championship recently announced the signing of KSW Double Champion Roberto Soldic. The Croatian MMA star is expected to step into the ONE Circle soon and it raises the question on who should he fight in his ONE Championship debut.

Who is Roberto Soldic?

Roberto Soldic is a Croatian MMA fighter who holds a professional MMA record of 20-3 to his name. He has held five title belts across four different MMA promotions in Europe including the Middleweight and Welterweight titles in KSW.

Fighting out of Germany, Soldic was born in 1995 and started his combat sports journey through judo while he was in school. He later transitioned into MMA and also holds a 4-0 record in professional boxing.

Apart from the titles in KSW, he held titles at Final Fight Championship, Superior Fighting Championship, and Swiss MMA Championship.

Nicknamed ‘The Robocop’, he has 18 finishes to his name from his 20 wins including 17 KO/TKO and 1 submission. He is currently riding high on a seven-fight winning streak as well.

Three possible opponents for Roberto Soldic in ONE Championship

Eddie Alvarez

The former UFC champion brings a wealth of experience into the cage. Alvarez has been on a roller coaster ride in ONE Championship and a showdown with Soldic will be an interesting affair. This fight can happen in the Lightweight category which will be the Welterweight category in which Soldic used to compete in KSW.

Aung La N Sang

With the extensive striking background that Soldic has, it would be interesting to see him going up against Aung La N Sang. The Burmese Python is a former two-division champion and he has given some exciting wars when pitted up against strikers.

A fight against Soldic will not be any different. The only problem for this fight would be that Soldic will have to move up a weight class as the ONE Championship Middleweight division limit is at 205 LBS when Soldic is used to competing at 185 in KSW.

Interestingly, Soldic has a history with Dricus Du Plessis who is the teammate of Aung La which adds to the story.

Reinier De Ridder

If ONE Championship figures the right weight class for this fight, it is bound to be an entertaining one. Reinier De Ridder and Roberto Soldic have been flag bearers of European MMA for quite some time now and both the fighters are double champions as well. It could be a good striker vs. grappler showdown and a clash of champions.
