The biggest martial arts organisation in the world, ONE Championship (ONE), and Steppe Link Holding recently wrapped up the inaugural season of Road to ONE: Mongolia, which saw bantamweight Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu receive a $100,000 ONE Championship contract.
The 10-episode reality series, which culminated in a pair of on-site live events in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, featured two teams of the best mixed martial artists in the area battling for the chance to join ONE's roster.
The winner of Season 1 of Road to ONE: Mongolia is Baatarkhuu, who defeated Bat-Ochir Batsaikhan in the fight's climax at Steppe Arena with a walk-off, one-punch knockout.
Rich Franklin, a legendary figure in MMA and vice president of ONE Championship, gave Baatarkhuu the renowned six-figure deal. Davaajamts Batsuren, a rival, received a "Warrior Bonus" from Franklin for winning the match by submission.
"This was one of the best and most professionally run editions of the Road to ONE series that I have witnessed, and I'm very excited for Enkh-Orgil's future,” Franklin said. “He is a special talent and a very deserving winner, and I expect him to make waves in ONE Championship.”
