Regian Eersel Talks Vacant Kickboxing Title At The Inner Circle

Reigning ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian Eersel faces Rungrawee "Legatron" Sitsongpeenong in a five-round headliner at The Inner Circle, broadcasting live on live.onefc.com, with the vacant ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title on the line.

For a man who has won ONE World Titles across two disciplines and accumulated ten ONE World Championship reigns, this particular belt carries a significance that goes beyond the prestige of any single accolade.

"I hope I get my baby back, my first baby, my first title in ONE Championship. I won it in 2019. So yeah, in 2026 I hope I reclaim it, win it again, and become a double champ again. It has a special place. It was my first title, and I also held it the longest," Eersel said.

The Dutch-Surinamese won both inaugural lightweight titles in ONE Championship, establishing himself as a two-sport ONE World Champion before losing the kickboxing crown on the scales rather than in competition.

That distinction has always mattered to him, and a 64-5 career record and 13-1 ONE record built on years of dominance in ONE's heavier weight divisions give him every reason to believe he can recapture what was once his.

Rungrawee, however, is the kind of opponent who demands complete respect. The 30-year-old Thai has compiled a 158-48 striking record and a 6-2 ONE record through relentless leg kick pressure that has worn down every opponent he has faced.

Eersel has invested heavily in preparing for every variation of that threat.

"I anticipate everything. Leg kicks, calf kicks, kicks on my right leg because he stands southpaw, kicks on the inside leg. So I'm training for everything," he said.

What sets Eersel apart from most champions is his willingness to embrace difficulty rather than avoid it. He is not arriving at The Inner Circle expecting a comfortable night, and he is not pretending otherwise.

"If I see the opening, I will go for it, of course. But I don't expect a knockout. I expect a full five-round war, a technical war between me and Rungrawee," Eersel said.
