ONE SAMURAI 5: Five Bouts Added To Tokyo Card As Brooks, Takeuchi And More Join

ONE Championship has bolstered the ONE SAMURAI 5 card with five additional bouts, set to take place at EBARA WAVE Arena Ota on Wednesday, November 18, in Tokyo, Japan, alongside the headline ONE Strawweight MMA World Championship clash between Joshua Pacio and Keito Yamakita.

The biggest name among the new additions is Jarred Brooks. The former ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion returns to action against Tatsumitsu Wada in a strawweight MMA contest that carries significant divisional implications.

Brooks wrote one of the most compelling chapters in ONE Championship’s strawweight history, stringing together three victories over world-class opposition before defeating Pacio via unanimous decision in 2022 to claim the title.

A difficult spell has followed, but the American’s hunger to return to the top of the division has never diminished. Wada, 37, arrives as a familiar and dangerous opponent, carrying a 26-13 MMA record and seven ONE wins into the contest following a hard-fought victory in April.

The heavyweight division serves up a mouth-watering debut as Japan’s Ryugo Takeuchi collides with fellow Japanese knockout artist Brandon Hashimoto, who steps onto the ONE stage for the first time. Takeuchi, 23, is a second-degree judo black belt who has faced some of the finest heavyweights on the planet, with his most recent ONE victory coming via a 98-second stoppage of Kang Ji Won in 2025.

A difficult period since that win has fuelled his desire to make a statement on November 18. Hashimoto, 28, brings an 8-2 pro record built predominantly on knockout victories into his ONE debut, ensuring that this heavyweight clash between two finishing specialists will not last long once the bell rings.

The kickboxing contingent adds three more compelling matchups to an already loaded Tokyo card. Japanese star Reiji takes on Rui Botelho in strawweight kickboxing action, while GUMP gives compatriot Shuto Inui a welcome to the global stage in a bantamweight kickboxing encounter.

Masashi Kimura rounds out the kickboxing slate, facing former ONE World Title challenger Ellis Badr Barboza in a strawweight showdown that brings one of the division’s most seasoned challengers back into the mix.
