ONE Championship has confirmed two additional World Title fights for the inaugural ONE Samurai 1 Tokyo event, joining the already-announced main event of Rodtang vs. Takeru II.
On April 29 at Ariake Arena, British superstar Jonathan Haggerty will defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship against Japanese ace Yuki Yoza, while hometown hero Yuya Wakamatsu puts his ONE Flyweight MMA World Title on the line against Uzbek sensation Avazbek Kholmirzaev.
Jonathan Haggerty has been one of ONE Championship's most decorated fighters since the moment he arrived.
The 29-year-old from the United Kingdom, who began training Muay Thai at the age of 7, is a former ONE Flyweight and Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion who added the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title to his collection in 2023 with a second-round knockout of then-divisional MMA king Fabricio Andrade.
He most recently defended that crown against Chinese striker Wei Rui in 2025 and carries a 9-3 ONE record into this assignment.
Standing across from him will be Yoza, a 28-year-old Japanese kickboxer who has gone unbeaten through all three of his ONE appearances with a 22-2 career record.
The hometown contender has been building steadily toward a world title opportunity, and fighting in front of his own fans at Ariake Arena gives him every possible advantage.
The second title fight carries its own compelling narrative. Wakamatsu claimed the ONE Flyweight MMA World Title in front of his home crowd by knocking out legendary Adriano Moraes, then defended it in Tokyo by defeating reigning ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Joshua Pacio.
Riding a five-fight winning streak with his confidence at an all-time high, the 31-year-old represents everything ONE Samurai was built to celebrate.
Kholmirzaev, however, arrives as perhaps the most dangerous challenger on the entire card. The 25-year-old Uzbek holds a 9-1 ONE record, is riding a six-fight winning streak, and has racked up eight stoppage victories in the promotion
