Sam-A Gaiyanghadao proved age is just a number with a dominant unanimous decision victory over rising contender Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi at ONE Friday Fights 137 on 19 December in Bangkok.
The all-time Muay Thai great showcased his signature power by flooring the 24-year-old challenger twice with massive left hands during the second round of their strawweight clash at Lumpinee Stadium, capturing his 377th career win.
The former two-sport, two-division ONE World Champion identified how Jaosuayai's weight cut affected the outcome of their strawweight Muay Thai encounter.
"He's very good in the 135-pound division, knocking people out easily. I was concerned about this because his hands are very good. But when he dropped down to this weight class, he might be tired, he might be drained, and he might not be used to this weight yet," Sam-A said.
Jaosuayai entered as a dangerous opponent, having secured his lucrative main roster contract in March 2025 and riding a four-fight winning streak.
However, his strawweight debut against one of the sport's most decorated fighters exposed the challenges of competing in a new division.
With 430 professional bouts to his credit, Sam-A continues harboring dreams of one more championship opportunity.
"I want to get a title shot because at this age, if I could get one shot at the title, it would be something great, no matter who the champion is," the Thai legend declared.
The veteran also weighed in on the anticipated strawweight Muay Thai title fight between reigning champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai and Aliff Sor Dechapan.
"In this matchup, Aliff is a tall fighter who's difficult to fight. Prajanchai is crafty. This will be an exciting fight. I think it will go the distance with their styles. I favor Prajanchai because of his angles and craftiness," Sam-A assessed.
The commanding performance at ONE Friday Fights 137 keeps Sam-A firmly in title contention while adding another memorable chapter to one of Muay Thai's most storied careers.
