Luke Lessei Silences Mohamed Younes Rabah To Stake His Claim as Title Contender

The biggest win of Luke Lessei's career arrived on 17 July at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium as ONE Fight Night 45 broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime. The Iowa native outpointed Mohamed Younes Rabah by unanimous decision in featherweight Muay Thai — and handed Regian Eersel a problem he cannot ignore.

Rabah was better in round one. A high kick opened the scoring before body hooks rattled Lessei's ribs and took the round convincingly. The American absorbed it, regrouped, and came out in round two with a clear plan — body kick, counter punch, punches in bunches. Rabah was shaken. The fight had turned.

The third round belonged to Lessei. Body kicks landed cleanly. A left hand stunned the Algerian. Both men traded at the bell in a frantic final exchange, but the scorecards were already settled. Record: 9-3. Eersel's featherweight throne has a new challenger knocking at the door.

Suablack Tor Pran49 got knocked down in round one of his flyweight Muay Thai debut and came back to stop Stephen Irvine with a single elbow at 1:39 of round two. Irvine's counter right hand put the Thai on the canvas for an eight-count — Suablack stood straight up and kept fighting.

Round two featured a second Irvine knockdown before both men clinched. When they separated, Suablack's left elbow landed perfectly and sent the Scotsman to the canvas for good. Performance bonus. Record: 63-23. A thunderous flyweight arrival from the 30-year-old Thai.
