ONE Fight Night 31 Headlined By Kongthoranee Vs. Nong-O Rematch, Welterweight Gold

ONE Championship returns to U.S. primetime on Saturday, May 3, with another stellar card. ONE Fight Night 31 emanates from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, bolstered by two marquee matchups.

In the main event, former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion and certified legend Nong-O Hama will get a second chance against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai.

The two first met at ONE Fight Night 28 in February in a fast-paced affair that thrilled the Bangkok audience over nine minutes. At the conclusion of three rounds, Kongthoranee took home a split-decision win for the biggest victory of his career.

It was the official start of another winning streak for the 28-year-old, defeating Nong-O after prior wins against Nakrob Fairtex and Tagir Khalilov. Now Kongthoranee must reaffirm his win against Nong-O to truly prove he is ready for title contention.

After rough waters tossed Nong-O around the bantamweight division, the Thai superstar was hoping for new life at flyweight. Although he came out on the losing end, the 38-year-old proved he could still hang with the elite.

With both men hoping for a more definitive end to their rematch to elevate them into title talks, fans should expect a thrilling main event.

The co-main event will juxtapose nicely by featuring two world-class submission stylists in a battle for submission grappling gold.

ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo puts 26 pounds of gold on the line against Dante Leon.

Leon made his presence known in ONE with two quick victories over Bruno Pucci and Tommy Langaker to secure his title bid. But defeating the American ace will be his toughest task to date.

Ruotolo has remained perfect on the global stage with seven consecutive wins, but the target on his back only gets bigger with each defense.

With only 10 minutes to secure a finish, both men will be aggressive from the opening bell in what should be an all-out scramble for the gold.

ONE Fight Night 31 will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Select 2 at 5:30 a.m. India Standard Time (IST) on Saturday, May 3.
