ONE Championship will showcase one of the most explosive MMA bouts this weekend when Fabricio Andrade challenges John Lineker for the latter’s ONE Bantamweight World Championship.

The two strikers will meet in the main event of ONE Fight Night 3 on Saturday, 22 October, at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and finally make good on their heated talks.

The challenger in #2-ranked contender Andrade has pulled no punches on the ONE World Champion, stating multiple times that he believes his fellow Brazilian had been running from this fight. Now that Andrade is getting what he’s wanted, he plans to make the most of it.

“I’m more than ready. We all know that I am the guy who has been calling for this fight for a long time, even before he was a champion. I want this fight. It doesn’t matter if it’s for a title or not. I’ve always wanted to beat him, and now it’s happening. I’m more than ready and excited to fight him,” Andrade said.

Lineker has been a long-standing name in ONE Championship, always known for his knockout power and electrifying fights. Being seven years younger than Lineker, though, “Wonder Boy” thinks this bout will be the changing of the guard in ONE’s bantamweight division.

“I am the guy who has been calling him out for a long time. He’s been ducking me. We all know that Bibiano was not a striker, and he was able to knock [Lineker] down. Bibiano doesn’t even have half of the strikes that I have,” Andrade said.

“One hundred percent I’m going to put on a show, and there will be more and more knockouts, and you will see a new champion.”

The decorated Muay Thai fighter-turned-mixed martial artist is promising to bring the same explosive action that brought him to the dance. He just hopes that Lineker won’t fall back on his wrestling abilities once the going gets tough.

“I expect the same, that he’s ready to throw down,” the Tiger Muay Thai standout said.

“I hope he can keep his word when he tagged me in his post saying that he wants me to strike with him and not [shoot for the] takedown. I hope he can keep his word.”
