Liu Mengyang delivered the upset of the year at ONE Friday Fights 137 on Friday, 19 December, demolishing reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai via first-round leg kick technical knockout at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.
The 22-year-old "Spirit Dragon" needed just 55 seconds to dismantle the Thai superstar, systematically destroying Tawanchai's lead leg with brutal inside leg kicks that crumpled the champion to the canvas.
Tawanchai opened aggressively with his trademark teep, briefly sitting Liu down early. But the Chinese striker recovered instantly, firing a sharp right hand that backed the champion towards the ropes.
Liu remained patient and focused exclusively on one target. Each time he closed distance, another vicious inside leg kick crashed into Tawanchai's lead leg, accumulating catastrophic damage with surgical precision.
The fourth kick proved decisive. Tawanchai collapsed to the canvas, unable to beat the referee's count as Liu secured the stunning knockout at 0:55, improving to 35-7.
Mohammad Siasarani earned a US$100,000 ONE Championship contract by knocking out "Smokin'" Jo Nattawut with a devastating one-two combination at 1:39 of round two in featherweight Muay Thai action.
The 23-year-old Iranian weathered early pressure before producing a perfectly timed combination that flattened the former World Title challenger, extending his winning streak to four consecutive victories.
Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri secured a US$100,000 contract with spectacular revenge, knocking out Alexey Balyko via perfectly timed high right kick at 2:06 of round one in their featherweight Muay Thai rematch.
The 23-year-old Thai displayed patience before catching Balyko flush with a thunderous high kick that ended the contest immediately, avenging his previous decision loss whilst extending his winning streak to nine.
