Nong-O Credits Rodtang's Fight IQ As Key Threat In Vacant Title Clash At ONE 173

Nong-O Hama has identified Rodtang Jitmuangnon's high fight intelligence as the most intimidating aspect of his opponent ahead of their vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship bout at ONE 173 on 16 November.

The former eight-time ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion believes many observers underestimate the former flyweight king's cerebral approach to fighting.

"Rodtang is a durable fighter. He is tough. Some might view him [simply] as an aggressive fighter. For me, Rodtang has a really high fight IQ, and that is intimidating," Nong-O said.

The Thai veteran's comprehensive analysis of the 28-year-old megastar reveals respect for every aspect of Rodtang's game.

"Personally, I do not see any weakness. His force, his physical condition, his IQ, and his skills," the challenger admitted when asked about potential vulnerabilities.

Rodtang enters this title fight with impressive momentum, carrying 274 career victories and 17 ONE wins while riding a three-fight winning streak that includes a shocking victory over Takeru Segawa.

Nong-O's realistic assessment of Rodtang's durability has shaped his tactical approach for the vacant title bout.

"It would be really challenging to have a knockout in this fight. So, I would love to win by score. But if there is good timing, I would totally go for the knockout because I've been preparing so many forms of strikes," he revealed.

Nong-O brings 267 career victories and recently moved down from bantamweight, defeating Kongthoranee Sor Sommai via unanimous decision.

Despite acknowledging Rodtang as a complete fighter without obvious weaknesses, Nong-O maintains confidence in their ability to produce memorable action.

"I think both of us can make this fight really entertaining. After this fight, if he wins, he's going to be a legend," the former champion stated.

The November clash promises elite-level Muay Thai between two Thai icons competing for the division's ultimate prize in Japan.
