Nakrob Fairtex Forged Remarkable Victory Against All Odds In Muay Thai

Ranked #4 in ONE Championship's flyweight Muay Thai division, Nakrob Fairtex's path to stardom began unexpectedly when he was just 6 years old. 

Despite coming from a family with fighting roots, he had little initial interest in the sport until a chance arose at a local fair.

"When I was a kid, I wasn't into Muay Thai at all, even though I had relatives who were boxers," Nakrob said.

That impromptu first fight — which he lost — earned him 150 Thai Baht and set him on an unexpected career path. After developing his skills on Thailand's regional circuit, Nakrob's talent caught the attention of a prominent Bangkok gym at age 15.

"That was my first time getting to the capital. That was the starting point that made me famous under the name 'Kaensuan Sasiprapa Gym,'" Nakrob said.

The COVID-19 pandemic nearly ended his fighting career. With no competition and no income, Nakrob reluctantly took a job with an electricity company.

"At that time, I was really down because I'd never had a proper job before. I'd been fighting my whole life. I'm not exactly good at climbing electric poles and installing wires, you know," the flyweight said.

As pandemic restrictions eased, an opportunity emerged when he joined the prestigious Fairtex Training Center, leading to his ONE debut in January 2023. His dedication paid off when, after his ninth appearance — a first-round knockout of Tagir Khalilov — he earned a six-figure contract and a place on ONE's main roster.

"When the host announced I got the ONE contract, I almost cried. My dream as a country boy going to experience the city finally came true. I've come a long way in my life, but I'm not stopping here. I gotta keep pushing," Nakrob said.

Now 26, Nakrob continues his journey against fellow Thai star Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi on 7 June at ONE Fight Night 32, looking to further cement his status as one of the division's most exciting contenders.
