Nabil Anane Reveals Why Superlek Revenge Was Highlight Of Spectacular 2025

ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane conquered every challenge placed before him in 2025, but the 21-year-old superstar insists one victory stands above all others in his perfect campaign.

The year began with Anane delivering a devastating TKO of Scottish knockout artist Nico Carrillo in January, capturing the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title and announcing his arrival among the division's elite.

March brought the defining test of Anane's young career when he faced Superlek, the legendary striker who handed him the defeat in his promotional debut.

Anane rose to the occasion with a masterful performance that avenged the loss and eventually led to his elevation to undisputed champion status.

When asked to identify 2025's pinnacle moment, Anane needed little time to decide.

"It's very hard to pick what the best moment was, but I will pick the fight against Superlek. I lost against him in my ONE debut, and then I didn't know if I would have a chance to fight against him again," the champion reflected.

With his Muay Thai dominance established, the towering striker expanded his horizons into kickboxing.

His divisional debut against Ilias Ennahachi showed Anane building a commanding lead before an accidental low blow forced a no contest ruling.

November provided redemption as Anane moved up to featherweight kickboxing to battle Japanese star Hiromi Wajima. The champion cruised to a unanimous decision victory, closing his undefeated 2025 campaign with authority across two striking disciplines.

Despite proving his kickboxing credentials, Anane expressed a strong desire to return to "the art of eight limbs" that made him champion.

"Personally, I want to come back and fight in Muay Thai because it's been quite long since I fought in Muay Thai. I've been preparing myself for kickboxing, and I just want to come back and fight in Muay Thai because I miss Muay Thai," he revealed.
