Indian MMA standout Mridul Saikia made a strong return to winning ways with a spectacular first-round knockout victory over Azerbaijan’s Maharram Ahmadov at Majestic Pride Fight Night: Cage of Warriors on January 17, 2026.
Coming off a setback at Road to UFC, Saikia needed a statement performance, and he delivered emphatically. The bantamweight bout ended just 19 seconds into Round 1, as Saikia landed a perfectly timed face kick, earning a TKO finish and improving his professional record to 8–1.
The win marked an important comeback moment for Saikia, who trains alongside fellow Indian MMA fighter Bhabajeet Choudhury.
Prior to this bout, Saikia had built a dominant resume across Indian promotions, earning multiple finishes in Bidang Fighting Championship, Matrix Fight Night, and Sangai MMA. His only professional loss came at Road to UFC in 2025, making this victory a crucial step in rebuilding momentum on the international stage.
