ONE Championship has recently announced a box-office fight between two of the most talented and in-form strikers.

Iranian sensation Mohammad Siasarani is set to clash with accomplished Japanese athlete Kaito Ono in a high-octane featherweight kickboxing bout on May 23 at ONE Friday Fights 109.

The prestigious Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will host Ono's highly anticipated debut, which was originally scheduled to take place in his home country at ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang.

However, just before the event, his opponent missed weight, and the Japanese kickboxer declined to accept a catchweight bout. As a result, the fight was canceled.

Now, the stars have finally aligned for the 27-year-old's long-awaited debut that fans were eagerly awaiting for a long time.

Siasarani has been a revelation in ONE Championship's weekly event series ONE Friday Fights. The 22-year-old has racked up four successive victories over Avatar PK Saenchai, Mohammed Boutasaa, Satanfah Sitsongpeenong, and one of the greatest strikers of all time Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.

However, his momentum was halted with two back-to-back losses, but he bounced back in his most recent outing with a hard-fought split decision victory against Chinese sensation Liu Mengyang.

Just a month after his last victory, Siasarani will leave no stone unturned in his quest to begin another win streak and notch two Ws in as many months.

It is, however, easier said than done. Ono, 27, brings a decade of experience to the ring. He began his martial arts journey with Karate and turned pro in 2014. Since then, he has competed in nearly 70 fights.

The former Shoot Boxing and RISE Champion boasts 26 knockouts, highlighting his incredible finishing ability. Notably, what sets him apart is that the orthodox striker has never been knocked out in his professional career.

Fans can expect an explosive showdown when these two collide inside the ring at Lumpinee Stadium.
