Merab Dvalishvili is all set to make his return against Petr Yan this weekend in the UFC. While the fight is being built up well for both the fighters a video of Merab has resurfaced on the internet which sees him being manhandled by Belarusian kickboxer Katrina Kavaleva.
The UFC star was pictured facing off against the intimidating 6'4", 200 lb. Belarussian in the picture. Despite being one of the top fighters in the game, Dvalishvili, who weighs 135 pounds and is only 5 feet 6 inches tall, had little to no chance against his bigger and more skillful opponent.
The Machine, who is famed for his expert-level wrestling, attempted to take his opponent down by aiming for her legs during the friendly sparring session.
But Kavaleva easily thwarted the effort before lifting Dvalishvili into the air in a manoeuvre reminiscent to what one may see in the WWE. Dvalishvili holds the record for the most victories by unanimous decision in the history of the UFC Bantamweight division.
Kavalena showed off her fluid mobility and launched a spectacular kick that flew above the Georgian's head, but he was able to escape it. The huge athlete posted a snap on her Instagram with the duo shaking hands following a sparring session the likes of which are rarely seen.
In addition to competing at both bantamweight and featherweight, Dvalishvili made his UFC debut in 2014.
He returns against Petr Yan this weekend in what proves to be an important showdown for both fighters.
