Matrix Fight Night has revealed the full fight card along with the date and venue for MFN 13 (Matrix Fight Night 13). MFN 13 will happen on 28 October 2023 at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

High-profile title fight headlines the event

The event will be headlined by the high-profile Featherweight title fight between Shyamanand and Sanjeet Budhwar. Sanjeet, who is the current champion, had stopped Shyamanand back in MFN 4. He later defeated Atabek Abdimitalipov at MFN 10 to become the MFN Featherweight champion.

Sanjeet currently holds a professional MMA record of 9-2 to his name and has only lost to Anshul Jubli and Jacky Gahlot in Matrix Fight Night. On the flip side, he secured wins over Shyamanand, Chaitanya Gavali, Dhruv Chaudhary, Dorde Stojanovic, and Atabek.

Shyamanand, on the other hand, has been on a dominant run after his loss to Sanjeet Budhwar. He secured four back-to-back stoppage wins. Abhishek Negi, Krishna Heer, Richard Mearns and Mido Mohamed, all fell in front of the Indian Combat Sports Academy star who is now out to avenge the only loss in his professional MMA career.

Return of Afghan Fighter

MFN 13 will see the return of Afghan fighters as Abdul Azim Badakhshi will fight South Korea’s Hae Jin Park in the co-main event. Afghan fighters were banned from MFN after the incident which took place at MFN 9 involving Badakhshi and Indian MMA fighter Srikant Sekhar.

Badakhshi comes into the fight with a professional MMA record of 13-3 and undefeated on the MFN platform. Hae Jin Park, meanwhile, is 10-3 in his professional MMA career and has been a prominent name in ROAD FC where he has been competing since 2015.

Potential Show Stealer between Clinton D Cruz and Govind Ale

The experienced Govind Ale will be making his MFN debut when he goes up against undefeated Clinton D Cruz. Clinton has been unstoppable in MFN when Govind is coming into the fight on the back of his knockout win at One Pride MMA.

Govind also comes in with the experience of competing at the ONE Warrior Series. Clinton, meanwhile, will have extra motivation to remain undefeated and move closer to the title belt.

Female Representation

The lone women’s fight on the card will see Sonam Zomba going up against Rashmi Jain. Sonam made an impressive debut in MFN when he outclassed Jojo Rajkumari and was initially scheduled to fight Sarita Rathod who was later replaced by Rashmi Jain.

The Bidang MMA fighter who trains under Bhabajeet Choudhury, will be looking to continue this momentum. In her way would be Rashmi Jain who has been an active name in the domestic MMA circuit of India.

Welterweight title on the line

When the fight card for MFN 13 was first announced, it had an interesting Welterweight showdown between Jason Ramesh Solomon and Pawan Maan Singh which was supposed to close the rivalry between the two.

However, Pawan Maan was forced to withdraw from the fight due to an injury, an in turn, MFN came up with a Welterweight title fight.

Jason is now all set to fight current MFN Welterweight champion Darkhanbek Ergeshov for the title making it the second title fight on the card.

Jason was last seen in action at MFN 5 where he secured a submission win over Ravindra Balhara. Prior to this, he had suffered losses to Pawan Maan and Srikant Sekhar.

Darkhanbek Ergeshov, on the other hand, won the title with a win over Seth Rosario recently and will be stepping up for his first title defense.

Bangers in the undercard

Sahil Rana will be making his MFN return as he fights Djordje Stojanovic in a fight which is bound to be a banger. Sahil is currently 3-1 and outclassed Anas Shaikh in his last MFN fight. Dorde on the other hand is coming off a loss to Punyajit Likharu and has high stakes when he steps into the cage with Sahil.

Also on the card is the showdown between Bonjovi Nongmaithem and Arshiyan Memon. Bonjovi, who so far is having a roller coaster run in MFN, is coming off a win over Limasunep Imchen at MFN 11. The Manipuri fighter has so far 2 wins and 2 losses in MFN. Arshiyan, on the other hand, is undefeated so far in his career. He is 2-0 in MFN with wins over Ritesh Paswan and Biswamitra.

Arsenba Ozukum vs. Himanshu Kaushik was initially advertised for the event but Arsenba was later replaced by Musa Raish. Musa comes into the fight on the back of his controversial showdown with Clinton D Cruz and will be looking to get a win on his resume. Himanshu Kaushik, meanwhile, is a seasoned veteran, who has previously fought in ONE Championship as well. He is 1-1 in MFN currently with his loss coming against current MFN Champion Angad Bisht.
