Martyna Dominczak Eyes Title Path Through Statement Victory Over Phetjeeja

Martyna Dominczak enters ONE Fight Night 38 as the underdog, but the Polish sensation believes a victory over Phetjeeja on 6 December in Bangkok, Thailand, will position her as the top atomweight Muay Thai contender.

The 23-year-old will challenge the reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion in an atomweight Muay Thai showdown that could determine the next challenger for Allycia Hellen Rodrigues' title.

Dominczak holds no illusions about the difficulty of her task against the Thai superstar.

"This is the biggest challenge in my career because Phetjeeja is a really accomplished fighter. She's world-class. She's undefeated in ONE Championship. She's also a champion in kickboxing," the Legion Głogow representative admitted.

However, recognition of her opponent's credentials hasn't diminished Dominczak's confidence in delivering a career-defining performance.

"I want to shock the fans and many people and show that even if I'm the underdog, I will beat her. I want to be #1 in the atomweight division right now. I know it very clearly," she stated.

The WMC Muay Thai World Champion has systematically built her reputation through dominance on the European circuit before transitioning to ONE Championship. Her 3-1 promotional record and 7-1 overall mark demonstrate her well-rounded striking abilities and potential to compete at the highest level.

Dominczak recognizes that victory would likely earn her an immediate shot at Rodrigues' ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Title.

"I'm almost sure that the one who wins this fight will be the contender for the belt with Allycia. I'm super excited for this. This also gives me a bigger motivation to beat Phetjeeja and to show that I'm at the top level right now," the Polish striker revealed.

The Thai champion's return to Muay Thai represents her pursuit of two-sport glory, adding another compelling storyline to an already significant matchup.

For Dominczak, this bout represents more than just another fight on her record. A victory over an undefeated champion on Thai soil would announce her arrival as a legitimate force in the atomweight Muay Thai division while potentially fast-tracking her to gold.
