Luiz Cado vacates BRAVE CF super welterweight title due to knee injury

Luiz Cado has relinquished the BRAVE Combat Federation super welterweight championship, citing health concerns after undergoing two knee surgeries.

The 33-year-old Brazilian has been sidelined since October 2024, when he won the 175-pound title with a disqualification victory over Kamal Magomedov in the main event of BRAVE CF 89. Although the win crowned him champion, lingering knee issues forced him out of action throughout most of 2025.

“This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made,” Cado said. “It hurts to let go of something I worked my whole life for, but the division deserves to keep moving forward.”

Cado went undefeated in four appearances under the BRAVE CF banner, earning three finishes and establishing himself as one of the division’s top competitors. He emphasized he is not retiring and intends to return once fully recovered.

The title vacancy adds significance to the main event of BRAVE CF 104, where Serbia’s Nikola Joksović faces Brazil’s Luciano Palhano. The winner could meet interim champion Alex Lohoré later this year for the vacant belt.
